comply with Length, Width, Height, Weight & Door Access* regulations
then completed in Australia.
Rebel RV’s
Used Vehicles where required go through the same process as new
vehicles."
Ok that's pretty much the statement on our home page, but what
does it really mean?
For each type of vehicle we import it means
something slightly different, the information bellow will give you some
indication of what's required, it' not a complete list of everything but
it gives you an idea of the effort we go to so as you, our customer have
the best possible product at the most affordable price.
Marine:
For boats it's reasonably easy, there are no ADR's
to comply with, no wheels, axles, brakes, tow hitch, gas, electrics, etc
but that doesn't mean we don't go to every effort to ensure your
purchase is hassle free.
Some of the things we do are, check the water pump,
change the oil, check the shaft seals, test the electrics, inspect the
hull, upholstery & mechanicals, etc, etc and finally we take it for a
test run in fresh water to make sure it all works. For the boat trailer
we convert electrical connection and lighting to Australian
requirements, modify the trailer width if required, check the
suspension, wheel bearing and tyres and many other small things. Last of
all we take the whole lot down to Vic Roads for them to check the
details and issue registration.
Caravans, Toy Haulers, 5th Wheelers & Campers:
Many trailers in these categories are either not
suited or not economical to import in to Australia, some of the main
problems are, to wide, to long, wheel loading to high, to heavy, door
access in wrong side*, wrong gas fittings, illegal tow hitch, no brakes,
etc, etc. The list of wrongs can go on and on.
We have our new Caravans, Toy Haulers, 5th Wheelers
& Campers made in the USA to our requirements, this means the things
that are hard or expensive to modify like doors in the wrong side, wheel
brakes etc are all done for Australian requirements AT THE FACTORY.
We then import them and fit Australian compliant
tow hitch, safety chains, trailer plugs & lights, electrical
connections, gas regulators, etc, etc.
Once the conversion is completed we have the gas
and electrical equipment inspected by independent testers. Then last of all we take the whole
lot down to Vic Roads for them to check the details and issue
registration.
! Beware of imports
that do not comply!
